Inspiration / Original vs. Budget #1

I promised you to make a original vs. budget post. Why buy the real thing when there are lovely fakes. Not everyone can spend a $1000/800 euro on a bag or a pair of shoes. Today I am doing a shoes only version. I think I will give this post some other tries with other items.

Here are my shoebudgettips for the moment:

Isabel Marant wedge sneakers 450 euro’s vs. Zara wedge sneakers 60 euro’s.

Sam Edelman metallic heels 150 euro vs. Zara reflector heels for 40 euro’s.
Remember Sam Edelman came out with a knock-off from the Balenciaga shoe boot in 2009. Now others try to knock-off Sam Edelman and more winterproof anyway.

Chloe boots for 905 euro vs. Zara boots for 100 euro’s.

Do you now understand why I love the Zara so much?

What’s new / Budgettips

I always feel that my budget is fighting against what is trending. That little voice inside my head always says to me: ‘You really like does …., don’t you? Just buy them!’ Unfortunatly I am not rich (at all) and my bank account doesn’t like me spending all that money. I have found some ways to indulge myself in the new trend, but don’t spend to much. Here are some budgettips:

1. Go Outlet shopping. I am really lucky to live about 5 min away from a pretty big outletcenter.
2. Go sample shopping. Follow some blogs who will give you more information about where/when.
3. Go to second hand/vintage shops.
4. Go on Ebay and buy second hand.
5. Find out which online shops offer free delivery and affordable clothes. I find new online shops using Fashiolista. I will make a list of my favorite online shops soon.
6. Never buy something in a online shop without using a discount code. Just use google and you pretty much find some codes for every online shop there is.
7. Don’t buy the real thing but search for a real nice knock-off. I will make another post about this topic.
8. Make a list before you go (online) shopping. Then you only buy things you really need.
9. Clean out you closet, you will find things you forgotten about (feels like shopping).
10. Sell you stuff and make money instead of spending it.

I would just die having this closet.

Hope these tips will help you to become a better (online) shopper and you are able to save some money. Let me know if you want to add some tips? I can sure use them.

What’s new / Beauty

Dear fashion friends,

Besides fashion there is beauty.

I am usually not the person who tries out new beauty products, even if I found a nail polish I like I will use it again and again. But lately beauty has caught my attention, and it so happened I was reading some beauty blogs when I  found the ‘beauty box’. This is really something I would like to share with you all, because it’s a real good deal and it so happens to fit my ‘budget theme’. And which girls doesn’t like to be spoiled?

Here are some images of the beauty box

So, what you get are five (exclusive) beauty products for 12,50 euros including shipping costs. Of course, what you get is a surprise. You can unsubscribe monthly. Here you will find more information about the beauty box. You can also read what has been in the box for the last few months, and trust me some products are amazing, but always in a sample form.

There are a few other options:
Truly Yours
Glossybox

So, staying in the beauty theme. I finally got myself some make-up brushes from make-up studio. A couple of weeks ago my girlfriends and myself followed a make-up workshop, which was really great. You’ll learn lots of trics and now I can finally do my own eye-schadow corectly. I bought myself the blusher (S06) and a eye-schadow brush (S25). I always add my foundation with a sponge, that is just my personal preference. If you would like to get a foundation brush or eyebrow brush, get the S07 and the S21 of make-up studio. These are the most expensive brushes of make-up studio, but trust me they will last a while and make a big difference.

Now I am thinking about subscribing and trying one of the boxes, because these brushes need some new make-up. Would you try it?

Inspiration / Queen’s Day

So, monday it’s Queen’s Day, which is a national holiday in the Netherlands. We celebrate the birthday of the Queen, Queen Beatrix, which isn’t actually her birthday (she was born on 31st of January), but her mother’s birthday Queen Juliana. We been celebrating her birthday since the liberation of the 2nd World War. Liberation Day is also coming up on the 5th of May. So, a lot of national holidays, which is always a real good time.

Well to get back to Queen’s Day, everyone, but absolutly everyone goes crazier and dresses up in our national color: ORANGE! Some of you might remember the images from two years ago when we became 2nd in the World Cup playing socker. One big orange mass. I am so looking forward to the European Cup this year in June. Well, not to get sidetracked what it comes down too is, monday everyone should where orange, if it’s a fashion statement or not. I love it!!!
